Privacy policy
This policy explains, in plain English, what information Aster & Main (“we,” “us”) collects through astermain.com and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Free audit form. Your name, business name and the phone number or email address you give us.
- Emails. Your email address and anything you include in messages you send to [email protected].
- Calls and texts. Your phone number, the time of the call or text, and what you tell us.
- Analytics and cookies. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Why we use it
- To prepare and send your free audit and reply to your questions.
- To provide services you buy from us, and to send invoices and service updates.
- To follow up about our services, which you can opt out of at any time.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and meet legal obligations.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers that handle information on our behalf:
- Web3Forms receives free audit form submissions and delivers them to our email.
- Cloudflare hosts this website (Cloudflare Pages), helps protect it from attacks, and forwards email sent to our domain (Cloudflare Email Routing).
- Google provides Google Analytics and may host the inbox that our forwarded email reaches.
We may also use our phone and messaging carrier to handle calls and texts. Each provider has its own privacy policy. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your contact details for anything other than the purposes above.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions, emails and text messages: as long as needed to respond and provide our services, and generally no longer than 3 years after our last contact, unless we need to keep records longer for tax or legal reasons.
- Google Analytics data: kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (no longer than 14 months for detailed data).
- Hosting and security logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period under its own policies.
Opting out of texts, emails and cookies
- Texts: reply STOP to any text from us and we will stop texting you.
- Emails: reply “unsubscribe” or email [email protected] and we will stop sending follow-ups. We may still reply to messages you send us.
- Analytics cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and others with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Opt out of the sale of your information or its use for targeted advertising (we do neither).
- Not be treated differently for using these rights.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the law requires. If we decline your request, you can reply to ask us to reconsider.
Children
This site and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no method of sending or storing data online is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
